Leadership Staff

Josie Barker

Office Manager

I’m a mother, a student, a partner, and a person in recovery. I could not have any of those things without the latter so it is a privilege to help other women achieve that as well. I am currently working toward my Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health and Human Services. My focus is currently in Counseling for Substance Use Disorder, but once I get my CADC I would like to shift my focus toward mental health so I can be proficient in the primary needs of substance use disorders today. Without having graduated from the Breaking the Cycle program myself, none of this would be possible.

Edith Shwartz

Kara is a Recovery Technician and House Manager at Breaking the Cycle. She is a graduate of the program and is currently working toward her Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) credential, bringing both lived experience and growing clinical training into her work
